Indigo Fostering exists to give children who've had the hardest starts the stable, nurturing family life every child deserves — and to support the carers who make it possible.
We provide a high-quality, evidence-informed fostering service for children and young people aged 0–18 across London and the surrounding counties — many of whom have experienced neglect, trauma or abuse. We place them with carefully selected families who can meet a wide range of needs, and we surround those families with the support they need to do it well.
As a company limited by guarantee, we reinvest our revenue into the children and carers we serve. Doing right by children and running a sound organisation are, for us, the same thing.
“Salutogenesis” means focusing on the origins of health — what helps a person cope, adapt and thrive — rather than only treating what's gone wrong. It's the thread running through our training, our matching and our day-to-day support.
We build on a child's existing resources and abilities, supporting a positive sense of self rather than defining them by their history.
Structured, predictable, supportive homes that help a child experience life as comprehensible, manageable and meaningful.
Care that's sensitive to the impact of trauma, prioritises safety and trust, and responds to behaviour through connection.
We recognise and provide for each child's ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic identity as central to their wellbeing.
Supportive relationships, coping skills and a safe, stable environment that together help resilience grow over time.
Children are active participants in decisions about their care, their daily lives and the way our agency works.
Every child in our care should be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution, and move toward economic wellbeing. Around that, we commit to:
Robust governance isn't bureaucracy — it's how we keep children safe and our standards high. Our structure mirrors the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
