Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Indigo Fostering (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent fostering agency serving London and the surrounding counties. We are the “data controller” for the personal information collected through this website.

2. The information we collect

When you use the “Register your interest” or “Transfer to us” forms, or email or call us, we may collect:

You don’t have to answer every question — several are optional. Please don’t send us sensitive details (such as health or information about a child) through these forms; we’ll gather anything like that securely and only if you proceed to assessment.

3. How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use this information only to respond to and progress your enquiry — for example to call you back, answer your questions, and, if you wish, begin the fostering journey with you.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. Cookies and tracking

This website is a simple static site. It does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across the web. When you submit a form, it opens a pre-filled email in your own email app for you to send — your answers are not stored on the website itself.

5. Who we share it with

Website enquiry information stays within Indigo Fostering and the email provider we use to receive it. We will never sell your data or share it for marketing.

If you go on to be assessed as a foster carer, we will — as required by fostering law and to keep children safe — share relevant information with bodies such as Ofsted, local authorities, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), medical professionals and referees.

6. How long we keep it

We keep the information you send us only for as long as we need it — to respond to your enquiry and support your next steps with us. We won’t hold on to it for longer than is reasonable, and you can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your rights” below).

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be informed; access a copy of your data; have inaccurate data corrected; ask us to erase it; restrict or object to how we use it; and data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@indigofostering.com.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk — though we’d be grateful for the chance to put things right first.

8. Keeping your information safe

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, and we only give access to those who need it.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
